Located in the Yucatan Peninsula, in the southeast section of the state of Yucatan, the small colonial city of Valladolid is one of the "magical peoples" of Mexico, a label assigned to peoples with natural beauty, cultural wealth or a notable historical meaning. The narrow cobbled streets of this small and charming city are lined with beautiful buildings of little height of pastel colors and several interesting attractions for visitors.

Mérida, the capital of the Mexican province of Yucatán, is located near the Gulf of Mexico and the captivating magical peoples (magical peoples). Due to its isolated geographical location, the capital of Yucatán has encouraged a unique cultural and political identity. Mérida was built at the site of the old Mayan city, but many of the existing Mayan pyramids were demolished by the Spaniards to build the large colonial buildings that are seen today. The city is the second largest historic center in Mexico, after Mexico City itself, and has a lot of museums, art galleries, restaurants and fashion boutiques.

Holbox is a small friendly island that is part of the exquisite Natural Reserve of Yum Balam of Mexico. This little -known and remarkably virgin destination sees very few foreign visitors and has only been found on the tourist map due to its excellent possibilities for observing birds and marine life.

Today we will discover one of the largest and most important cities of the old Mayan civilization: Chichén Itzá. We will make a guided tour of this modern wonder and learn about its history and amazing buildings. We will visit the ball game, the Temple of the Warriors, the impressive Pyramid of Kukulkán (El Castillo) and the Wall of Skulls. Each of these monuments will offer us fascinating knowledge about Mayan culture and architecture, leaving us amazed with its greatness and legacy.

While we continue exploring Chichen Itzá, we will visit other significant structures, such as the Osar, a pyramid that houses a cave inside, and the El Caracol Observatory. By admiring this unique round structure, we will discover the advanced astronomical knowledge that the Maya possessed in their time. These architectural wonders are not only visually impressive, but also reveal the deep connection of the Maya with the cosmos and their ability to study the stars.

During our visit, we will also participate in a fun treasure search activity, where we will embark on a recreational and educational search for hidden treasures around the site, making our experience even more exciting.

At the end of our tour, we will go to Cenote Ik Kil, an impressive natural sink surrounded by lush vegetation. Here we will enjoy a refreshing bath in its crystalline waters, which will allow us to relax and rest. After this revitalizing experience, we will taste a delicious lunch, tasting the local cuisine in a charming environment. This will be the perfect way to close a day full of exploration and astonishment. Subsequently, we will go to our hotel in Valladolid.

Today we will have a Yucatecan culinary experience. We will receive a cooking class from a local chef who will accompany us to visit the Santiago market, the oldest neighborhood of Mérida. We will receive an explanation in detail of some fruits and vegetables from which Yucatan is the main producer such as Havana Chile and Achiote. Here you will also buy the ingredients of the food we will prepare. We will have the explanation of local traditions, the influence of other cultures in Yucatan and the differences between Yucatecans and people from other parts of Mexico. We will learn some words in the Mayan language while we tasted the delicious dishes that we will prepare.

In the morning, we will go to the port of Chiquilá (309 km, 4 hours) to board the ferry. On the island, a golf cart will be waiting for us to take us to the hotel where we will enjoy the next nights.

We will make the most of these days to disconnect and relax in the impressive white sand beaches and crystalline waters. Let's walk through its lovely sandy streets, let's observe the incredible local fauna, such as flamenco and turtles, and taste the delicious gastronomy based on fresh seafood. Holbox is a destination that promises experiences.

We will start early for an unforgettable adventure in which we will live and swim with these magnificent and very docile creatures, whale sharks. While we practice snorkeling in crystalline waters, we will find an incredible variety of marine life. Along the way, we could also see Delfines, Mantarrayas, sea turtles and a diverse range of fish and bird species that thrive in the waters surrounding Holbox Island.

This day will be perfect to enjoy Holbox at our own pace. On the island we have the option of renting a bicycle or a golf cart to travel it, discovering its most charming corners, such as the Dream Pier or urban art murals that decorate its streets.
We can also opt for optional activities, such as a kayak tour of mangroves to observe exotic birds and wildlife, or an excursion to see the phenomenon of bioluminescent plankton at night.

Our wonderful adventure comes to an end. In the morning, he will pick us up the golf cart to take us back to the pier from where we will take the return ferry to Chiquilá. Upon arrival, the vehicle that will take us to the Cancun International Airport (144km 2 hours) will be waiting for us, where we will take our return home.
